Traci Gardner

I am an educator, currently teaching in the Department of English at Virginia Tech. I blog about college writing for Bedford/St. Martin's Bits Blog and in the Ink’d In newsletter and write about K–12 English language arts instruction for ReadWriteThink. My Lists of Ten (the source of my nickname, tengrrl) were originally published on email discussion lists, including WPA-L and TechRhet. My work focuses on connected learning, digital composing, and online teaching. I use this domain for my course websites. For my research and writing, please visit my personal site, tengrrl.com.

Mentoring & Service

My Calendar of CFPs is a chronological listing of all the calls for proposals, submissions, queries, and nominations that deal primarily with topics of rhetoric, composition, technology, and technical writing. The FAQ at the bottom of the Calendar page explains how to use the resource and how to submit additional CFPs.

As a mentor to graduate students teaching professional writing courses in the Department of English during the Spring 2015 term, I developed the Teaching Professional Writing blog, where I posted assignments and tips on teaching technical writing and business writing. This blog is now retired.
